Day 1, Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After an early breakfast at your Hotel in Kampala/Entebbe, our driver guide will pick you up and drive south wards through Masaka. You will have a stop over at the Equator and this will give you time to have photographs. After this you will drive on to Kiruhura viewing the beautiful long horned Ankole cattle as you proceed. Arrive in time for lunch at the Lake Mburo restaurant which is found on the lakeside. After lunch, enjoy a boat trip on Lake Mburo. View varied aquatic wildlife like crocodiles and hippopotami. Resident bird species include: pelicans, heron, fish eagle, African fin foot, saddle billed stork, papyrus yellow warbler and other animals like the rare shoe bill stork. After dinner you will retire for the night at Mantana tented campsite or Rwonyo campsite/Mihingo lodge.
Day 2, game viewing and forest walk
Early in the morning, go for the game drive in the park and look out for animals like Impala, Burchell’s zebras, bush bucks, bush duikers, topis, elands, buffaloes, sitatunga and many others. Return back for a late breakfast then watch the salt lick at a designated point in the park. Have lunch at Lake Mburo restaurant and after go for an afternoon sport fishing spree or alternatively take an afternoon guided forest walk in Rubanga forest. The forest offers 40 different bird species, 5 of which are forest specialists. Common species will include the harrier hawk, green pigeon, narina trogn and double toothed barbet. You will also come across tree species like the sapium, markhamia platycalyx and erythriana. Dinner and overnight lodging at Mantana tented campsite or Rwonyo campsite/Mihingo lodge.
Day 3, Return to Kampala
Wake up early for a game drive on the Impala track. You will view the Impala, water bucks and warthogs, topis and Zebras. Later on go for the drive on the zebra track where you will view the Burchell’s zebra, oribi and reedbucks. Retire to the restaurant for a late breakfast, relax and have lunch. After lunch drive back to Kampala. Dinner and overnight at your Hotel in Kampala
