9 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari

Day 1, Arrival and Transfer to Akagera National Park
Upon arrival at the Airport, you will be met by our company driver guide who will greet you and also brief you about your Safari and then after, you will transfer to Akagera National Park. You will go for an evening game drive and have a chance to look at some animals before they get back to their habitants. Dinner and overnight stay at Akagera Lodge.

Day 2, Game drive and Canoeing
After breakfast at the Lodge, you will go for the game drives in the park and later on after lunch, you will have a canoe ride on Lake Ihema. You may be able to see hippos, Nile crocodiles and birds. Dinner and overnight stay at Akagera Lodge.

Day 3, Transfer to Kinigi
After breakfast, you will start on you Journey to Kinigi. You will be transferred to the North and you will pass through the beautiful terraced hillsides that show much of Rwanda’s landscape, gradually climbing to the base of the awesome volcanoes. You will arrive in Parc Nationale Des volcanoes in the evening.  Dinner and overnight stay at Volcanoes Virunga Lodge

Day 4, Gorilla Tracking
After breakfast, report to the headquarters of Parc Nationale des Volcans at 08:00hours for briefing, After the briefing from the authorities of the park, set off for the trekking into the rain tropical forest covering the hills surrounding Virunga Volcanoes. It is advisable to organize packed lunch and plenty of water for this sometimes strenuous activity. Return for dinner and over night at your lodge

Day 5, Golden Monkey Trekking
After breakfast at the Lodge, You will go and trek the golden monkeys. After this you will drive to Gisenyi or visit Ross Carr's orphanage and Lake Kivu and trek to Dian Fossey's grave. Return for dinner and overnight at Volcanoes Virunga Lodge.

Day 6 Transfer to Nyungwe
Early in the morning after breakfast at your lodge, you will start on your journey and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park. On your way, you will visit the old palace in Nyanza and you will also pass the green hills of tea and the vast Nyungwe Forest. Dinner and overnight at ORTPN Rest house.

Day 7, Forest Walk
You will have breakfast and go for the forest walk to search for the large groups of Colobus monkeys and birds including the Rwenzori turaco. You will have lunch in the forest. Return late afternoon for evening tea, picnic dinner and overnight stay at ORTPN Rest house.
Day 8, Chimpanzee tracking 
On this day after breakfast, you will go in the forest and search for the Chimpanzees which are man’s closest friends. Return to the Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9, Kigali City Tour and Return Home
After breakfast, you will depart for Kigali where you will do a City tour and visit places like the market, a pottery project, handicraft shops, the Franco-Rwandan cultural centre, the Museum and the genocide memorial. Have lunch enroute and then Transfer to the airport reaching in time for your flight back home
