Mountain Rwenzori Hiking 11 Days

Day 1, Arrival
upon Arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be Met and greeted by our company representative who will be your guide. You will be transferred to your respective accommodation facility in Kampala for dinner, relaxation and an overnight.
Day 2, Transfer to Rwenzori National Park
After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will pick you and transfer you to Kasese Town to Rwenzori Mountain national Park and arrive at Rwenzori mountaineering services (RMS) offices for registration and guidelines. You will also choose your porters and cooks who will escort you to the Mountain during your Hiking. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the moon hotel/Hotel Margarita
Day 3, Start Hiking, Nyakalengija to Nyabitaba
After break fast and briefing fully equipped with the your guides and porters set off for hiking from trail head(1646m) walking through the mud Bakonjo homes and gradually moving up through elephant grass and garden plots. This trail follows the Mubuku River; it involves climbing over rock and bluff, before reaching the Mahoma River. After this there will be climbing through open bracken fern slopes and podorcapus forest up to Nyabitaba hut. During this part of the trip you may be able to hear chimpanzees and sometimes the black and white colobus monkeys and blue monkeys behind the hut and also catch glimpse of the brilliantly colored Rwenzori Turaco. The total time hiking is 5-7 hours and the total elevation gained is 4000ft (1200m).Stay at Nyabitaba hut.
Day 4, Nyabitaba to John Matte hut
Follow the trail from Nyabitaba hut leading to Kurt Shaffer Bridge crossing Bujuku and Mubuku rivers. From this point it is steep and slippery. Continue the hike up to John Matte hut for dinner and overnight. Day’s hiking may take 7 hours. 
Day 5, John Matte- Bujuku Hut
From John Matte cross River Bujuku and enter the Bigo bog, then cross the drier ground up to Lake Bujuku which overlooks Mt. Baker and Speke to the north. Follow the trail up to Bujuku Hut this hike may take 3-5 hours. Dinner and overnight at Bujuku Hut
Day 6, Bujuku Hut - Elena Hut
From Bujuku Hut, hike to Scott Elliot and Elena Hut. This is the end point for the central circuit and the starting point to climb Margherita Peak or Mt Stanley. Follow the central circuit through the alpine zone of sparse low vegetation to crater lakes and drop to Lake Kitandara hut for dinner and overnight.
Day 7, Kitandara hut- Magherita
Descend from Lake Kitandara hut leaving Margarita peak northwards and Democrat Republic of Congo westwards and on clear days you will see big area of Congo and the famous tropical forests of Congo. Descend up to Guy Yeoman Hut for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8, Nyabitaba Hut- Nyakalengija
Descend to Nyabitaba Hut and this may take you 5 hours. Relax at the hut while preparing for dinner and overnight stay
Day 9, Descend to Kasese
From Nyabitaba Hut, descend to Nyakalengija the park headquarters and this may take 2-3 hours. Meet with your driver and drive back to Kasese town at your hotel for warm showers and relaxation. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Margarita/Mountains of the moon
Day10, Transfer back to Kampala
After breakfast head for Kampala and relax at your hotel before flying to your home the next day.
Day11, Departure
Have an early morning breakfast and after depending on your time of arrival, you will be transferred to the Airport for your flight back home
