10 Days Uganda cultural Safari
Day 1, Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
Upon arrival at Entebbe international Airport, you will be welcomed by our company representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala. Overnight at The lodge/Cassia lodge/Sheraton Hotel Kampala/Serena Hotel Kampala
Day 2, Kampala City Tour
After breakfast at the lodge, you will go for the city tour visiting places like the Kasubi Tombs which is a special burial place for the Buganda Kings, the Namugongo Shrines where the Uganda Christian martyr’s where burnt live, Bahai Temple the only one of its kind in Africa and African Craft Village for souvenirs, carvings and other handcrafts. Overnight as above
Day 3, Transfer to Fort Portal,
Early in the morning have breakfast and then transfer to Fort Portal, you will pass by the traditional homesteads and farms along the way. Fort Portal is found in the shadow of the famous Mountains of the Moon and is famous for the large tea plantations. Dinner and overnight at Rwenzori View Guesthouse/Mountains of the moon Hotel/Palace Motel.
Day 4, Nature walk to Mountains of the Moon
After breakfast at the Hotel, you will go and enjoy a guided nature walk at the
foothills and learn more about the local culture firsthand. Enjoy the scenic views, have a glimpse of the village life and visit traditional witchdoctors with in the place. You will also make a stop over at the Amabere Ganyamwiru Caves, where you can discover the small hidden waterfall and admire the stalagmites and stalactites. After this, go for the cultural evening with traditional dances and entertainment from different tribes. Dinner and overnight at Rwenzori View Guesthouse//Mountains of the moon Hotel/Palace Motel.
Day 5, Crater Lakes area
After breakfast, you will explore the region of the Crater Lakes while enjoying the beauty of the numerous small lakes, surrounded by gentle hills. Take a hike at Lake Nkuruba to encounter different species of primates and birds, and visit the Mahoma Falls. Meet the local people as you walk through their villages, learn about the customs of the Batoroo tribe and enjoy the panoramic views. Day 6, Transfer to Nshenyi Village in Mbarara
After breakfast, transfer to Mbarara town for lunch after transfer to Nshenyi Village. The village is in a hidden place and has many rural farms and from here you can experience the traditional way of living. Enjoy the rolling countryside of the Ankole Kingdom and listen to the silence. Dinner and overnight at Nshenyi Village.
Day 7, Full day in Nshenyi Village.
The morning starts early as you go to the field to milk the long horned Ankole cows. Return to the farm for breakfast, after which take a short walk to the village of a Bahima tribe. Experience the lifestyle of this traditional tribe and learn more about where they live, what they eat and their other native habits. In the afternoon you go for a nature walk along the River Kagera, the natural border with Tanzania. The trail leads through undulating hills that overlook Nshenyi Village. In the evening you can enjoy traditional dancing and singing of a non-professional local group. Dinner and overnight at Nshenyi Village.
Day 8, another full day in Nshenyi Village.
After breakfast, spend another day exploring the village, relaxing in the raw comforts of nature, or have another nature walk and also spend spend some time in an open market and see how Wall Street comes to life in rural Africa. Dinner and overnight at Nshenyi Village.
Day 9, Transfer back to Kampala
After breakfast, depart for Kampala with lunch en route and have a stop over at the Equator for photographs and water experiments. Proceed and arrive in Kampala late in the evening in time for dinner and overnight stay at The lodge/Cassia lodge
Day 10, Departure.
Depending on your time of departure you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
