Uganda Primates Safari 13 Days
Day 1, Arrival at Entebbe International Airport.
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our safari guide who will transfer you to your hotel. Check in and relax while waiting for dinner. Overnight at Hotel Africana/Sheraton Hotel/Kampala Serena Hotel/Cassia Lodge /The lodge.
Day 2, Transfer to Murchison falls National Park
Have an early morning breakfast at the Hotel and after your driver guide will drive you to Murchison Falls national park which is located in the north western part of Uganda. This drive takes you through the past war zone of the Luweero Triangle. Have a stop over at Masindi for lunch and later take a drive to the top of Murchison falls at the Bakers summit to marvel at the Spectacular Nile squeezing its wave of rapids through the narrow cleft of Western Rift Valley. Dinner and overnight at Paraa safari lodge/Nile safari camp/Red Chilli Rest Camp.
Day 3, Go for a Primates walk in Kaniyo Pabidi forest
After breakfast, set out and transfer to Kaniyo Pabidi ecotourism site for briefing before you proceed to Budongo forest for chimp tracking. This forest has a wide range of over 13 species of primates including the rare L’hoest, red Colobus monkey, blue monkey, pottos, grey mangabeys, baboons, black faced vervet monkeys, not leaving out bush babies and many others. A network of shady forest trails provides much to delight botanists and bu
tterfly lovers, while birders are in for a treat with 335 species recorded including the endemic Prirogrine's ground thrush, lemon Bellied Crombec, and Chocolate-backed Kingfisher. The elusive forest elephant, smaller and hairier that its savannah counterpart, moves seasonally into the developed part of the park, while other terrestrial mammals include buffalo, giant forest hog and a half dozen antelopes. After lunch go for an afternoon guided nature walk in the forest. Dinner and overnight at Paraa safari lodge/Nile safari camp/Red Chilli Rest Camp.
Day 4, Transfer to Kibale national park
Depart for Fort Portal to Kibale National park. You will drive via the Albertine Escarpment of the western Rift valley on the Masindi-Hoima-Fort portal road. Dinner and Overnight at Primate Lodge/chimp guest house/Kibale forest lodge
Day 5, Chimpanzee tracking
Have a morning breakfast and depart for the chimp tracking in Kibale forest National Park. along the walks you may sport chimps, white colobus monkeys, , grey-checked mangabey, red colobus, black-and-white colobus, Baboons and chimpanzees bird species such as the great blue turacco, Africa pied king fisher , malkites. In the afternoon, go for the Forest/Nature walk in the Bigodi swamp. Dinner and over night stay as above

Day 6, Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early morning breakfast, you will return to Fort Portal commonly known for its weaving and basketry. After enter Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is dominated on its northern border by the snow-capped 16,000-foot Rwenzori Mountains-the famed "Mountains of the Moon". You will enter Queen Elizabeth with a game drive enroute and expect to see herds of impalas like Uganda Kob, topi, elephant and lion, giant forest hog, Cape buffalo. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya safari lodge/Simba safari camp/Jacana Safari lodge
Day 7, Go for Chimpanzee tracking in Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast go for chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura gorge. The gorge habours the only family of habituated chimpanzees in Africa. Other primates found in Kyambura Gorge include Red tailed, Vervet, Black and White colobus monkeys, and olive baboons. There are some resident wildlife species that you might come across in the gorge like the giant forest hog. After lunch at around 3pm, you will be driven to Queen Elizabeth national park headquarters. You will have a 2-hour launch trip on the Kazinga channel. You will marvel at the sight of either elephants, hippos, buffaloes; water birds like the Greater flamingo, pink-backed pelican, papyrus canary or the martial eagle. You will most likely see a crocodile or two while they bask in the sun. Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge/Hippo hill camp/Simba safari camp.
Day 8, Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park
After breakfast, set out for the last game drive in the Ishasha sector while transferring to Bwindi. The sector is well known as the place for the Tree climbing lions. Proceed to Bwindi reaching in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla resort/Buhoma community bandas/Bwindi view Bandas
Day 9, Gorilla Trekking
You will rise early and have breakfast, after go for the Gorilla tracking in the forest which activity is once a life time experience. Before you set out for the trekking, you will receive guidelines from the well- trained guides and also will lead you to a point where the gorillas were encountered the day before. The hike duration is determined by the gorillas whose continuous search for food requires a nomadic lifestyle. The trek can take from 1-9 hours at altitudes in excess of 7,500ft and over rough and steep terrain. Although the hike is physically demanding, the beauty of the forest and its inhabitants make your experience extremely interesting. Upon encountering the gorillas, your fatigue is quickly forgotten. Return for dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla resort/Buhoma community bandas/Bwindi view Bandas
Day 10, Transfer back to Kampala
Have an early breakfast at the camp/lodge, drive back to Kampala having lunch enroute in Mbarara town. On arrival in Kampala check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 11, Transfer to Ngamba island
Have a very early breakfast after which our driver/guide will pick you from your hotel in Kampala. He will drive you to the shores of Lake Victoria after which he will brief you shortly. You will take the 9:00 am launch to Ngamba Island. Your arrival at the island will be followed by briefing on the background of the island and the reasons for the sanctuary’s establishment. After this you will be allowed to witness the chimps as they are fed by their keepers. The gestures they exhibit like whistling and clapping for food will not only be amusing but also memorable. These chimpanzees for some reasons have not been re-introduced to the wild but it will not escape your notice that this island is still their best second home. Dinner and overnight at Ngamba island camp.
Day 12, Forest walk and Chimp viewing
After breakfast, you will go for a forest walk with the chimps. You need to under go specific medical inoculations to have a forest walk with the chimps. This is done to avoid endangering the health of the chimps that are easily catch most human infections. The forest walk accommodates a maximum of 3 persons in the company of a guide. The chimps will climb on you, playfully pull your hair or will simply walk holding your hand. Overnight and dinner at the Ngamba island camp.
Day 13, Return to mainland and transfer to the Airport
After breakfast return to the mainland and later be transferred to the Airport to meet your flight back home.
